However, a diary can be\nabout a lot more than that. For example, a sleep diary can be useful in making\nsure you get enough shuteye. It may also be helpful in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weatherfordsleep.com\/what-is-sleep-apnea.html\">diagnosing\nsleep apnea<\/a> in Weatherford. Whatever the cause, this lack of oxygen raises your\nblood pressure and makes you wake up. Even if you don\u2019t remember waking, sleep\napnea can disrupt your sleep cycle, keeping you from getting the restful sleep\nyou need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might have sleep apnea if you experience any of the\nfollowing symptoms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Waking with a sore throat, hoarse voice, or\nheadache <\/li><li>Frequent loud snoring <\/li><li>Mood swings or depression <\/li><li>Waking up gasping or choking <\/li><li>Excessive daytime sleepiness even after plenty\nof sleep <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let your dentist or physician know if any of these signs\nsound familiar. The first step in diagnosing sleep apnea is to take a sleep\ntest. One way to make that process easier is by keeping a sleep diary first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Do You Use a Sleep Diary?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make a chart or get a journal with spaces to record several\naspects of your daily life that could affect your quality of sleep. Some of\nthese may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>How long you slept <\/li><li>The amount of caffeine or alcohol you consumed\nand when <\/li><li>What emotions you experienced &nbsp;<\/li><li>What medications or drugs you took <\/li><li>How many times you woke up during the night <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve had more than a few nights in a row where your\nquality of sleep leaves something to be desired, keeping a sleep diary is a\nmust. By seeing your sleep patterns over several nights, your doctor or dentist\ncan usually help determine whether you should take a sleep study to be\nevaluated for a disorder such as sleep apnea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Can Your Dentist Help?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two main options for sleep apnea treatment in\nWeatherford: oral appliance therapy and CPAP continuous positive airway\npressure (CPAP) therapy. Oral appliance therapy uses a clear tray worn over the\nteeth that gradually repositions the tongue and jaw, so the airway doesn\u2019t get\nblocked during the night. CPAP therapy utilizes a machine connected to a nasal\nmask to essentially do your breathing for you. Combined therapy, while less\ncommon, uses a mix of the two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you think you might have sleep apnea, try keeping a sleep\ndiary.
