Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about sleep apnea? You’re not alone. Many individuals who are considering treatment often wonder whether it will work or how to even go about finding an experienced sleep dentist near Aledo. Fortunately, Dr. Romack and our team at here to answer your questions and provide detailed insight into what you should look for in a qualified professional as well as what you can expect when visiting our office.

How do I find the best place for sleep dentistry?

Before you attempt to blindly choose a professional to treat your sleep apnea, it’s best if you establish a list of criteria to follow. During your research, make sure you consider whether you want someone who:

What is the best way to find a dentist who offers sleep apnea therapy?

Although you now know which criteria to use to find the best place for sleep apnea therapy, you may need some help in getting to that point. So, what is the best way to find someone who offers this type of treatment? You’ll need to start by first researching individuals in your area who provide sleep apnea therapy.

Finding an individual who has experience addressing snoring and sleep apnea and includes references to their professional memberships as well as advanced training and experience are extremely beneficial.

You’ll be pleased to know that Dr. Romack is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and she is always looking for continuing education courses she can take to hone her skill set and expand her knowledge.

Is additional education required to be a sleep dentist?

Yes, sleep dentistry does require advanced education and training; however, because it falls under the umbrella of general dentistry, these individuals must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as well as a dental degree (i.e., DDS, DMD), which can take three years to obtain.

Once equipped with the appropriate credentials and licensure, professionals can opt to pursue specializations like sleep medicine. This often requires additional courses and training, both of which Dr. Romack possesses.

With more than 15 years of experience, she is well-versed in the areas of airway obstruction, snoring, and upper airway resistance syndrome.

How can I expect to pay for sleep apnea treatment?

If you have medical insurance, it is advantageous to allow a member of our team to file with your carrier. It is possible that they will agree to cover some of the total costs; however, you or someone from Weatherford Dental Sleep Medicine must review your policy and determine how best to move forward.

Even if you are unable to seek financial help from your medical insurance provider, you can enroll in a flexible financing plan through CareCredit. This makes it easy to avoid paying upfront for the entire amount of care and instead, you can break up your treatment costs into manageable monthly payments.
